June 18th - Move to Kaslo
Saturday morning the forecast is rain beginning by 11 am, so we were on the road by 8:30 to Kaslo. We first stopped at the City of Trail's free dump on the way out of town and then hooked up the car.
On the way one passes the Ainsworth Hot Springs.
Other than a few sprinkles, we missed the rain event and were able to get all set up, go out for lunch and give Freya a good walk on the beach before the drizzle started at 2 pm. Lunch at the old refurbished Kaslo Hotel was very good and there's a fantastic view of the water. They feature Nelson Brewery Beer. Yummm.
The following are pics of the view from the hotel.

We are staying at the Kaslo Village Campground, which features 30 amp power, water, cable TV and free WIFI for $30/night. This is a lovely little campground with a view of Kootenay Lake. There only about 3 or 4 spots we would fit out of 30. Lots of trail/beach walking off leash for Freya. The campsite is somewhat empty today, hence our great view, but I am sure it will change tomorrow. The sani-dump is next door in the park, but I think they want too much $$$ for dumping and as we're going to the Nelson City Campground in a few days, we'll dump there. The rest of the day we spent inside with our front window watching the waves on the water. Hopefully the weather is better tomorrow.
