Canada Day 2024 - Jason, Kristi and Amelia come for the weekend. June 26 - July 1st

Wednesday, Exchange Energy came to identify why the upstairs ductless heat pumps, were not working when Dianne and Steve were here. After two hours of checking everything, Cody determined the "coil" is full of holes, which allowed the refridgerant to leak out. The new coil's ordered but in the meantime he will come back on Friday to inject some kind of sealant into the system. This will recharge it to work until the coil comes in (which is under warranty .... just not all the labour). This will be an expensive repair.

After Cody left we headed up to Nanaimo to spend the day at Jason and Kristi's to visit wth our other granddaughter, Stella and mom Kat.

Jason and Kristi did an amazing upgrade in their back yard. What a playset.

After a great visit at 4 pm we headed back to the lake. Fortunately the traffic isn't too bad on the Friday of the long weekend.

Saturday morning and Jason, Kristi and Amelia arrived for the weekend. Let the fun begin. Today I'm busy cooking our big Prime Rib Dinner, the kids favourite. Papa is kept busy with Amelia. It actually poured rain the first few hours after they arrived. Bummer. Fortunately the rain quit, so Amelia's able to get outside.

Fishing

Papa had to wear his life jacket too.

Cuddly Olaf

Puzzle time

Big Blue, Papa on double duty!

Sunday we took a drive to Crofton to walk the boardwalk, with lunch at the Osbourne Bay Pub.

Back home and guess who wants to swim in the cold lake! Thanks to Pat and Darryl loaning us the skin suit for Amelia.

Olaf has no problem swimming at 5 months old.

Of course Amelia wanted time to play in Papa's boat.

Sunday afternoon the sun finally came out so we were able to get outside on the back lawn. Teaching Amelia Bean Bag.

Sunday for dinner, we looked after Amelia while Kristi and Jason went on a date night to Jake's on the Lake. She's not too happy about that, but cheered up once we got her Paw Patrol on the TV lol

Monday morning we took her to the Duck Pond Park, while her parents packed up.

At 11 am they left and stopped at the Canada Day celebrations in Lake Cowichan. Amelia got to go on the bouncy castle and get her face painted. Happy girl.

In spite of the cloudy weather for the weekend, we all enjoyed great times.

  3. Your granddaughters are such pretty little girls. Nice that they have visits and play time together.
Enjoy them ...they sure grow up fast. Our granddaughter is twenty three already and the time flew by.
