Back home with grey days and lots of rain. Definitely different than warm, sunny 28C weather. We do need the rain as the lake is really down to summer low's. The lake rose up from a summer low, to almost full, in several days of pouring rain. It's come up at least 2 feet.
Friday night we invited Roy and June for dinner and try a sip of my new bottle of Tequila. Wow is it smooth. The rest of the weekend was quiet, rainy and wet. We did get a break in the weather for an hour Sunday at noon, so were able to sit out front on the driveway in the sunshine. Sure felt great before the clouds moved back in and it poured rain by dinner.
Monday, we headed into Duncan to order up more "Pesos" from our bank and a bit of shopping. We then headed to Nanaimo in the afternoon for our overnight visit with the kids.
First up, lunch at our favourite sushi restaurant, Nori. We haven't been here for a year or so, as it's the most expensive place around. After trying several other options, we realized they have the best, and charge for it accordingly.
We sat and ordered some of our favourite things,

Quite the "fire" display. We were surprised the sprinkler system did not activate! |

Ours, not nearly as spectacular lol |
After a leisurely lunch and a bit of shopping, it's time to meet up with Jason and Amelia for her gymnastics class. This is her "physio" for her knee. She is doing really well.
The drive home went fast and for the most part the roads are dry. There was a rainstorm last night with a lot of wind. We didn't notice it. but boats in the Nanaimo harbour broke free and some sank, lots of power outages along the coast ????
Wednesday and Thursday we spent doing some odds and ends and a trip into Duncan to pick up our pesos for our trip to Cancun. The rain stopped for now and it's warmed up to 10C (50F). Not too bad for the end of February.
The lake is now "at full". The water level is up almost 3 stairs from the beach if you look at the previous picture. The weir and boat lock to control lake water will go in on April 1st, so we can capture any water for the summer.
Tomorrow we take the ferry across to the mainland and visit friends and family in Squamish for the weekend.
