Nothing much to report. :) We had a few sunny warm days and then back to April showers/rain. Both of us just puttering.
Ray's been busy downstairs building my new vertical planters. I emptied, scrubbed and refilled our hot tub, a full day job. I am finally feeling better and able to get busy without coughing.
Ray did a quick trip to Nanaimo on Monday and managed a quick visit with Amelia before Jason took take her to an appointment.
Wit Ashton busy doing that, in the afternoon we went across the lake to visit with Warren and Debbie for a couple of hours. A great visit catching up.
Sunday the rain began but Ray did finish up on our sundeck with pressure washing. We have 3 weeks to get the house ready for the summer. Ray's cataract surgery is May 1st and the second eye June 3rd. He will be unable to lift anything, or bend over for 2 weeks after each surgery. So the pressure is on :) For the first time since he was 11 he will not need glasses.
Monday I took a run up to Nanaimo to get checked out by my doctor..... I'm finally over this virus, yay! Managed a shop at Costco while it wasn't too busy. I always love having the time to meander around the store without rushing. I checked out the garden centre, lots to pick, but it's too early yet with our cool nights and a lot of rain.
The rest of the week quiet until Jason, Kristi and Amelia arrived on Friday afternoon. It's Jason's birthday weekend. After Jason's birthday dinner, prime rib, and Amelia put to bed, the kids left to go back to Nanaimo to have an "adults weekend".
Happy Birthday Daddy!
Next up a Big Bed Family Cuddle.
Amelia had a pretty restless night, so did me and Olaf as he heard her crying in her sleep. She does get nightmares frequently. Happy girl in the morning though. The next 3 days were very busy.
Saturday morning adventures. Building a castle with Papa.
Good morning Olaf!
Sunday, Pancakes for breakfast before going shopping with Grandma. This would give Papa a bit of time to himself as she sticks like glue to him and he doesn't get a moment to just sit.
After our second stop at Walmart, we headed to McDonalds so Amelia could play in their play zone. Even though there were a bunch of noisy kids climbing up and down, Amelia included herself this time. Telling them "that's my Grandma". Big difference from Christmas time when she wouldn't participate with other kids.
After an hour's play it's time to go back to the lake and get Papa for lunch. We went to Jake's. Since she had french fries at Mcdonalds, all she wanted was cucumbers and tomatoes.
It was still nice and sunny outside, so she went out on the deck to blow bubbles before dinner.
Both Saturday night and Sunday night she was out like a light and slept right through until morning. I sure appreciated it.
Monday morning we had to get her ready and fed as Jason was picking her and Olaf up at 7:45 am so she could go to daycare in Nanaimo.
We had a great time with her for the 3 days. The rest of the day, we puttered a bit but did more relaxing as we were both tired. The sun was out so we sat outside on our front patio for a few hours getting our suntans back. :)
A fun but tiring weekend with Amelia...priceless! ❤️
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was. She was a happy girl all weekend.
