May already! Our rhodo's are looking fabulous. Nothing too exciting happening here.
May 1st .... Ray has his first cataract surgery and will have the other in a month.
I spy with my little eye!
2 days later he is seeing pretty good out of his right eye.
Saturday is a really weird weather day, sun, wind, and then periodic rain showers. I've got ribs going on my Traeger and made a huge pasta salad. When I saw my neighbours, Roy and June, outside working on their front garden irrigation, I invited them to dinner. They were happy to say yes.
Of course I forgot to take any pictures, but we had a nice few hours catching up before they go on their 4 week adventure next week to Europe. They will be going with some other neighbours, Ron and Donna and meeting up with Pat and Darryl in Paris. Our neighbourhood will practically be empty. lol
Sunday is a beautiful day, so after our morning chores, we drove to Maple Bay and ate lunch at the Lion Rampart Pub with a view of the ocean.

Cheers! |
This week we employed Ryan of Fresh Haven to clean our windows outside including the skylights on the roof. Probably the first time they've been done in 17 years! He is a monkey.
We typically sit outside either on the front patio or back deck in the afternoon, as the weather has been nice and sunny.
Wednesday night the wind came up quite briskly. Look at the whitecaps, not a usual sight on our portion of the lake.
Ray went to Nanaimo on Thursday for a doctor's appointment and managed a quick visit with Jason and Amelia before getting home at 6:30 pm. We both went back to Nanaimo for doctor's appointments on Friday. A biopsy of my nose. I have a "sun spot" that has been burnt off about 6 times and keeps coming back and Ray had a spot on his ear. Good thing we're not going anywhere! Looks like I broke my nose! Happy Mothers's Day to me.
A lot of driving this week to and from Nanaimo. We had some pretty nice weather to sit outside but it has now changed to cloudy periods with some showers, of course, it is the weekend. Great flower growing weather, warm a little sun and some rain.
Happy Mother's Day
Kristi called me early, after waking up at the hospital from her call shift to wish me Happy Mother's Day. So nice to hear from her. We usually get together, but she is working this year. Ray brought me home my present from her on Thursday, earrings from Saltspring Island.
Sunday, Ray took me out for Mother's Day Brunch at Jake's at the Lake. They opened early at 10 instead of 11:30 for the event. We ate a great brunch of chicken and waffles with soft eggs and hollandaise on top. Delicious.

The iris's in my garden are blooming like crazy. I still have 3 different bunches waiting to flower yet.
That's our first 2 weeks of May.
Nice to get the skylight and windows washed! I'm sure you'll notice a difference, especially the skylight.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Mothers Day! Your garden is gorgeous, love those vibrant spring colour's. Wish I could be there
ReplyDeleteGood call hiring someone to clean all those windows. If that were Barb, she would try to do it herself!
