Wine Touring Part 2 Oct 2

Wednesday, sunshine! What a beautiful morning. We won't get moving too quickly as the wineries don't open until 11 am at the earliest. First stop breakfast, at Norman's Diner. A beautifully renovated place, great food and great service. Now I'm ready to sip a bunch of wine. lol

First stop today is the Ex Nihilo Vineyards and Tasting Room. Great wine and great views for Ray to take pictures. They have some wonderful whites and a few reds. Keeping my eye out for great Rieslings, which is our daughter Kristi's favourite.

As usual I taste and Ray walks around taking pictures. lol

Wayne, our server, told me that if I like white wine, to stop in at Peak Cellars, which is owned by the O'Rourke Family Estate. That's my next tasting. Peak's vintner specializes in various Rieslings. More bottles in the car. lol Kristi will like these.

The O'Rourke Family Estate, further up the road, makes primarily Pinot Noir while Peak Cellars are known for their various Rieslings. We didn't go to that location. The O'Rourkes have also bought another huge plot of land in Osoyoos to create another vineyard. It is a much warmer climate down there, better for pinot noir grapes.

My last tasting of the day is the well-known Gray Monk Estate Winery. I've been disappointed before (their Gerwertraminer), with some of their wines, but not today. They have a really good Gray Monk Odyssey Rose Brut. Delicious. Also some very tasty reds.

Cleanup crew!

Fortunately I do taste, but don't finish the glasses as I want to be able to function lol. Once the servers knew I'm here to buy, not just drink, I aways got 6 or 7 tastes instead of the 4.

Next up lunch at Wa Skew'R Sushi and Bar. Delcious rolls and miso soup.

Off to our suite for some R & R. It's been a busy couple of days. After a rest, Ray took off in the car for some pictures close by.

Apple Orchard. Most of the apples seem to grow on these little trees now instead of the big ones Ray used to pick from. Seems easier to pick for sure.

This pic doesn't show it, but there's just a see of red.

We were treated to a gorgeous sunset at our suite.

Tomorrow a change of venue. We move to The Cove Lakeside Resort for 2 nights on the Westside.
