February is here and hopefully that means Spring is just around the corner. Feb 1 - 7

Beginning of February. Lots of Baby Pictures!

Our little angel is 1 month old as of February 2nd. Wow. Hanging out with Dad in the kitchen.

Received a bunch more pictures of our other granddaughter Stella who is now 8 1/2 months old.

Stella is now standing on her own for about 30 to 45 seconds at a time so I'm sure walking is in her near future. lol

She is also attempting to feed herself.

Our neighbour did get his wood shed finished. This will still be a good barrier to keep the dogs in our yard. :)

Here are "one month" pictures of Amelia.

Photo bomb, Zeus!

Zeus's baby.

Wednesday, the sun finally came out for the day. Here comes the sun.

Ray and I decided to take a bit of a road trip with Freya and walk a couple of community parks in Mill Bay. First up Manley Creek Park. The trail wound down the hill with switchbacks including several bridges over the creek. Ray was able to take a few waterfall pics as well. Considering all of the rain we had, these trails are very well maintained with no muddy areas.

Beautiful view.

Back in the car and over to the Mill Bay Nature Community Park. The short trail here not so well maintained, as there was quite a bit of mud. There happened to be what looked like, two grandma's with all of their grandchildren, must have been 10 kids, on the beach here so we really did spend much time on the beach.

Saw this guy on the way down the trail.

Some of the kids.

After walking these two trails it was time for lunch. We decided to go into Mill Bay and order takeout from their marina restaurant, Bridgeman's Bistro. Service was quick and the food definitely noteworthy. I ordered the Bridgeworker burger and Ray the Thai curry shrimp bowl. Both were delicious. We asked the guys in the marina office if we could eat down on the dock at the picnic tables as with Covid, we did not want to eat inside the restaurant. No problem. A beautiful sunny day with a great view. Ray and I would definitely eat inside there once the Covid pandemic is over.

Our view for lunch.

Here it comes. lol

Mount Baker in the distance.

A very enjoyable few hours spent in the sunshine, just what the doctor ordered. :)

Thursday, our electrician came to finish up some plugs in Ray's shop and finish putting lights in our master bedroom closet. Another, wet day outside. So glad we went out to enjoy the sunshine yesterday.

Friday, grocery shopping day in Duncan ... early. Back home by noon with takeout lunch in hand. Nice enough afternoon we were able to sit on the sundeck with the heaters on. Got my Traeger fired up and we had ribs for dinner. It's been too ugly outside to use it for the last couple of months.

Amelia is staying awake for longer periods. Hopefully this means she sleeps more at night. lol

Comparison between Stella at one month and Amelia at one month. They are quite similar looking. :)

Amelia

Saturday woke up to the forecasted rain. Great as we had lime put on our lawn yesterday and it needed to be washed in.

Had some bad news this morning. Our son's shepherd, Kira, passed away this morning at home in Squamish. She was Freya's half sister. We will miss her. This picture was taken last June when we were over visiting our new granddaughter Stella. Freya and Kira were very close. RIP Kira.

We had a beautiful rainbow this morning, thinking of you Kira.

Super Bowl Sunday.

As usual I will be making appetizers for Ray and I for the game. Definitely different this year compared to last year when we had 2 other couples over in the Motorhome for the game. Leslie and Dave Roche, Dave and Cheryl McMechan, Ray and I. Warm enough I was in shorts and a tank. :) This morning woke up to -2C ... burrrrrr!

That was our week.

  3. Beautiful pictures...of both your granddaughters, as well as your adventure to Mill Bay. What a great day you had. We'll have to try and meet at Bridgeman's Bistro for lunch whenever we're able!
