Gordie and Susana come for the weekend! Aug 22 - 24th

Mini Family Reunion. My cousin Gordie and his wife Susana came from Coquitlam for the weekend as well as Kristi and family. Great weather for their visit. Everyone arrived around 2 pm on Friday.

Ray managed to get a family picture on Saturday before Jason had to go to Victoria.

Everyone down to the dock after unpacking as it's a beautiful hot day. I started the prime rib on the rotisserie.

Saturday morning I made a big breakfast and then dock time for the afternoon. I also made charcuterie, on the board Jason made us, for lunch. Tonight barbecued chicken.

Gordo lol

Olaf gets on the swim mat, but won't jump off lol

Everyone went swimming except Susana. She doesn't like cold, being from Mexico .... lol

Our little lake baby warming up and of course snack time. She's wearing her hat that looks like Papa's and Daddy's with Grandma's sunglasses lol

Time for dinner, Prime Rib.

Family walk time after dinner and my fabulous kitchen crew did all the dishes.

Jason spent Saturday morning spray foaming the cracks between the gyproc and beams in both garages, to prevent odours coming through into the bathrooms upstairs. We noticed it when he epoxyed the bench and table a few weeks ago. Thanks a bunch Jason. It involved a lot of ladder work which kills Ray's back.

Jason had to travel to Victoria Saturday afternoon and pick up their trailer from his parents. They've been using it the past 2 weeks, while getting their bathroom redone. While he's there, he realized that their reservation for camping isn't Monday but Sunday. That sure put everything in a tizzy. Kristi and Amelia had to leave first thing Sunday morning to get home to shop and pack, before leaving for camping. I bathed Amelia at 7:30 am while Kristi scrambled packing up all their stuff. They were on the road by 8:30.

At 9:30 the rest of us decided to go into Duncan for brunch at the Doghouse Restaurant. Gordie and Susana continued on to Victoria to catch the ferry home. They didn't have a reservation. Unfortunately there's an accident on the Malahat (gosh when isn't there), so they didn't catch a ferry until 3 pm.

Ray suggested we go to another couple of wineries with our festival ticket, since we're already in Duncan. Today we went to Cherry Point and Enrico.

Cherry Point happened to have an open house and were serving Paella and Sangria. I'm full from brunch, but Ray ate some Paella while I tasted wines. They have a really good blackberry port wine that I bought, among others of course.

Back in the car to Enrico Winery, driving by Cobble Hill Winery and Lavender Farm. This would have been really colourful a month ago with the lavender blooming. They don't seem to have many grape vines though, so we didn't bother stopping.

Our next destination, Enrico Winery. They even sell sparkling wines in cans like beer.

Time to head back home to the lake and get into the water. A great weekend.

Ray managed to finish another puzzle. Good thing he buys used ones, as he seems to get one done a week. lol

A fabulous weekend.
