October 24 - 26 2015 Canyonlands

October 24th - Canyonlands National Park

Saturday morning, Oct 24th and we're out the door by 8:45 to go to Canyonlands. No fog this morning and the sun is shining so photos should be good. It sure is very much like the Grand Canyon except not so far across.

Ray and I had a great morning stopping at all of the viewpoints and taking the short walk to the Mesa Arch. For the most part the sun cooperated with the pictures.

Once back home we set up in the sun and threw the ball for Freya. Tomorrow morning it will back to finish the second half of Arches we've yet to see.

Sunday morning we left Freya at home so we can do a couple of the short trails.  It was a cool 46F when we left at 7:30 am. Arrived at The Courthouse and waited for the sun to rise at precisely 8am. Wow!

Next it was off to Devil's Garden at the very end of the road. What a lovely spot.

Don't miss the deer

Next up the Skyline Arch:

We then backtracked to the "Windows" for the short hikes to take some morning shots of the arches. It is glorious and we were back to the coach by 11:30 before it got too hot for Freya.

Grocery shopping was up next for me as we are on the road tomorrow so back into Moab. I ate lunch at the Peace Tree Restaurant, recommended to us by fellow campers and brought the other half of my wrap home for Ray. It's very tasty.
