The sun finally came out in the afternoon a little, so a campfire was in order. Once that was done, it was time to cook our country spare ribs in the InstantPot for 32 minutes. I put them on the charcoal hibachi in our campsite to finish them. Ray chipped up some mesquite wood to give the ribs a little smoke. Yumm they turned out well.
Yup those ribs are getting smoked! |
I managed to snap a couple of pics with my phone of the sunset that briefly appeared ... all of 60 seconds.
We had this wonderful saguaro right beside our motorhome. |

Moving day to another site up the road. It was real windy last night so Ray had to go out at midnight and take down the flags. In the morning he noticed the bird feeder pole was knocked right over and the feeder spread apart and the seed all gone. Might have been a javelina as they have been sighted in the park.
Here is an awesome sunrise over the Superstition Mountains. The sunshine is back!
This was our shortest "travel day" ever ... a whole five campsites up the road and the coach in place by 9:30 am. After I set up the inside with my Christmas decorations and Ray had us hooked up with power and water it was 11 am and we were starved. We decided to check out the Mammoth Bar and Grill, just down the road from the Lost Dutchman located in the Goldfield Ghost Town. Quite an eclectic place with lots of western memorabilia with pictures of John Wayne, Willie Nelson just to name a few. They also had lots of cowboy boots tacked up all over the ceiling ... for what reason???
This place was nothing to write home about ... mostly a tourist trap. Although they did have Michelob Amber Bock on tap, it was served in a plastic glass, not my thing. Ray and I decided to share a burger as we were going out for dinner with Steve and Dianne later. It was okay ...
Back at camp Ray had a "toes up" and I continued putting out my Christmas lights and decided to put up the "First Up" shelter as this new site has absolutely no shade and I was cooking. Ray came out and helped me with the final erection. I was sure ready for my Margarita today.
Steve and Dianne arrived around 1 pm ... you missed the "guest arrival squeal"from me". They finished setting up and came over about 3:30 for Happy Hour. We spent a couple of hours catching each other up on our separate adventures over the past two weeks.

We arrived at 5:30 and the place was packed but Steve managed to find us a table out on the patio that needed a little "fixin up" in regards to the umbrella. You go Steve!
I had a great time chatting with the couple and saying hi to their horses. One was a mustang and the other an Icelandic pony. They like coming to this saloon for a beer to clear out the "desert dust" because they can tie their "ride home" in sight of the patio.
After dinner we only stayed a while longer as it cooled down substanially and the boys only had shorts on. We were all tired anyways ... it felt like 9pm where as in reality it was only 6:45 pm. lol
Once home we went our separate ways preparing for tomorrows adventure.
You don't have to worry about losing your keys if you ride your horse to a bar! Looks like a fun place!!
