A cloudy start to the day but no showers. Cooler out at 55F this morning. My left knee is still pretty sore so I will keep it elevated today in between doing our laundry. After I made breakfast, Ray and Freya headed out the door to walk a trail, Freya's most favourite thing. Ray likes to stay moving too, as his doctor recommended walking as his best exercise.
Here we go.
Are you coming Dad!
He crossed over the creek several times on large rocks. lol
We received an email today from our gardener at home. She sent some flood pictures that she took the day the lake and river peaked at our house and then the cleanup pictures. Now, all is ready for us to go home. lol
The water is almost over our top step. Our ramp to the dock actually goes up instead of down.
Our neighbour next door, had water up their foundation and into their basement.
This is the entrance road to our subdivision.
What it looked like after the water receded.
The town's bylaw officer gave Cindy the go ahead to just send the logs back out onto the lake from the beach so we didn't have to pay to have it cut up and hauled away. Will pulling the log out from our dock.
Will dragging the last log out from the beach on the dock. Now our beach is clean. Yeah!
Today we decided to take a drive towards Ventura, just down the highway, and explore the harbour and beaches of Oxnard and Channel Islands. There are a lot of subdivisions with canals for docking people's boats right out their back door. Pretty Cool. Reminds me of the houses in Florida we see on House Hunters on TV. The main beach there is called Hollywood Beach and there is limited beach access for parking, just small easements for the people in the community to walk to the beach. My knee was pretty sore so Ray drove and I waited while he took a bunch of pictures.
