Friday we sat at the beach before going to the Rhythms of the Night production. It's amazing and somewhat of a "Circ de Soleil" performance.
We took an Uber to the marina, about 15 minutes from our hotel and boarded the boat at around 5 pm for a 5:30 cruise over to a secluded beach. This took about an hour with lots of pitchers of margaritas and rum punches and beer if you want. Lots of people on this cruise, probably 100 or so. Also another boat came in with as many people too. These are pictures leaving the marina.
Upon arrival you walk along a sandy path towards the buffet, and a bunch of the performers are doing "their thing".
Once we're all seated for dinner the sun set. They have no electrical here and everything is lighted by torches or candles. Very beautiful. Delicious food.
After we finished eating, Ray took a wander around for some more pictures, while I finished my wine.
Time to go to the performance.
We did not book VIP for the extra $$ and just as glad we didn't. The people in the VIP have a very long line at their buffet and we were quick to go through ours in a different section. Also, the VIP seating for the show was right in the front of the stage where you look straight up, tipping your head. We were about 1/3 of the way back so it's much more comfortable. The seats were long 10" benches with a little cushioning, still hard to sit for an hour and a half.
This is a really large production with their own musicians. It's magical.
The performance lasted about 90 minutes and it's back on the boat to the marina. A fabulous performance.
View of the beach as we're leaving. They apparently have 3500 torches and thousands of candles.
The crew put on a show all dressed up to "keep the party going", and to prevent people from falling asleep I think. Made the ride back seem fast. The drinks flowed again.
I called up an Uber just before we hit the dock. We arrived home about 11:30 pm.
Wow! That looks like quite a show! Many talented performers. Glad you enjoyed it.
