Back to Cottonwood and Dead Horse Ranch State Park

Monday, November 20th

Lazy morning with coffee, blogging and Ray doing up last nights pictures. As we only have about a 20 minutes drive to Dead Horse Ranch State Park and check-in is not until 1 pm ... there is not hurry to get moving this morning. Although clear initially this morning, the clouds began to roll in and by noon it was really cloudy. A storm from the Pacific heading northwest to Seattle and Vancouver was giving us the tail end of the system, causing the clouds here. By Wednesday another monsoon for them. :(

As usual we are ready to go long before we need to and arrived at the Fry's gas bar and grocery store by 11 am. I drove separately and met Ray there. He fueled up and I went shopping. Hooked the car back up to the coach and drove the 10 minutes to Dead Horse Ranch SP. (We have to hook the car back on so they don't charge us for an extra vehicle!) Once past the gate we met up with Dianne and Steve at the sani-dump. We both arrived at our sites by noon. Everyone spent a couple hours setting up ... Steve needed to take his boat down off the roof of his truck in preparation for his service on the truck tomorrow. Around 4 pm we all congregated at Steve and Dianne's for an "adult beverage" enjoying the view from their site.

Once back home I made Ray his "birthday dinner" that I had yet to make as we have been busy. With Thanksgiving, Fry's had great prices on seafood so I took advantage. Prawns as a starter and then Brown Butter Lobster with Bowtie Pasta as a main. He said it was great.

Tuesday, November 21st

Woke up at 6  am... burr in the coach. I did not turn on any heat last night as it was quite warm and we did not find it cold while sleeping, but getting up to 54F in the coach was chilly. Today was a busy day. Steve took his truck in for it's servicing. Dianne and I got our mountains of  laundry done and I filled up our propane tank . After that it was last minute purchases at Walmart. Tons of people out and about with this being the American Thanksgiving week so line-ups were fairly long. Ray spent the day doing a few chores, a bunch of personal computer stuff and walking Freya.

Tonight we all had an early dinner date at the Pizzeria BOCCE with Dave and Cheryl, other bloggers we met at Lone Rock Beach.

What a great visit. Dave showed up with his notebook again ready for any info we could impart to him. Lots of ideas shared, lots of laughs and great pizza with craft beer. The service was excellent as well. Thanks for the dinner Dave, our turn when we catch up with you in Yuma.

Tomorrow the four of us head to Payson for our next adventure.
