Prescott, The Granite Dells and driving back through Jerome

Thursday, November 16th

I was up fairly early after going to sleep really early. I guess all that walking the ruins tired me out as well as being outside all day yesterday. Ray was able to sleep in longer, which was good as he only got about 4 hours sleep the day before due to pain.

Another beautiful morning with few clouds in the sky. Today, Ray is going to take the day off and relax and Steve said he will be busy doing pictures again .... so Dianne and I will have a "girls day" and drive to Prescott to Costco today. The guys hate shopping anyways.

Every afternoon for the past 4 days, the clouds have come in so Ray and Steve were unable to get the sunset pictures in Sedona they want to take. We're only here until Sunday, so hopefully they get a couple of days where the skies remain clear in the evening.

Dianne and I were on our way by 9:15 am. First stop fuel and Fry's and get rid of our garbage in the cans. We are able to burn paper stuff at camp but "wet garbage" needs to find a proper trash can. We were back on Highway 260 to connect up to I-17. Unfortunately there's a ton of road construction as they are "twining" the highway and speeds were reduced to 35mph for about 10 miles. Took us about 1 1/2 hours to make it to Costco. Dianne and I went our separate ways but usually ended up in the same area over and over. We kinda shop the same way. Once that was done and the food stored in the car it was off to lunch. We chose "The Finn", a new restaurant up on a hill overlooking the town of Prescott.

The Finn Restaurant & Pub serves breathtaking views, inventive beverages, and fresh, local food. Signature cocktails and a wide selection of beer and wine pair well with original dishes artfully prepared by Chef Matthew Crawford and the talented kitchen staff.

View from the patio.

Lovely brand new dining room.

Dianne ordered Heirloom Tomatoes & Burrata ♥

  1. We likely passed you on the road! We were in Cottonwood and Clarkdale and back to Camp Verde yesterday. Internet is not good and my hotspot is VERY slow so I'm way behind in posting or even looking at blogs.
Happy belated birthday to Ray. He looks GREAT!

    1. The rocks really are quite different from anything else around here. They remind us of the rocks at Joshua Tree NP.
