Touring Upper Sedona and the Tlaquepaque Plaza

Tuesday, November 14th

Up just before 6 am. A little cooler this morning outside, but we are nice and warm with our "Big Buddy" propane heater. Today Ray and I did a little tour of upper Sedona, checking out the stores for things we either could not afford or have no space for! lol. It sure is an artist community with all of the outside sculptures.

A borrowed grand daughter perhaps!

Next went to the Tlaquepaque Plaza, where they have lots of artisan stores to walk around. A lovely little plaza.

There are these huge trees everywhere. Ray says they feel like concrete their bark is so hard.

All of these huge tree must look amazing at night with all of the lights.

We did not go for lunch this time at our favourite brewery, just had coffee and a muffin at the Secret Garden Cafe. A lovely little spot. While we were sitting outside on their patio, there was this wee little mouse that kept coming out of the garden and was determined to go under the tables near our feet and the couple next table over. We kept scaring it back into the garden. I mentioned it to the servers and they said the exterminator had been called. As we all know that if there is one mouse there are many more. Too bad for the wee mouse but you cannot have them inside your restaurant and with the doors wide open that is exactly where it was going to go. Usually mice are nocturnal so do not know why this little guy was running around at 10:30 am.

Once we returned home, Ray had to lay down for a couple of hours as walking and standing for any length of time does him in. I played around outside putting out "Steve's landing lights". Dianne and Steve were spending the evening in town with a good friend and as it is pitch dark where we are camped, I thought I would put out my two 100' strings of white lights leading them into our driveway. lol

As the afternoon was quite warm I decided to cook our dinner over charcoal in the fire pit. Dinner was prime rib with baby potatoes and a foil pouch of veggies with mushrooms. All this served up with a glass of red wine. Everything turned out wonderful and we ate outside just as the sun was going down about 5:15 pm. We have run out of firewood so no fire tonight. Steve and Dianne will bring in some more for tomorrow.

Yummm.
