Off we drove at 9am to Skutz Falls to get some pictures and give Freya a bit of a walk. The fall colours are spectacular. Stopped to take a picture of the road in.

Very spooky picture taken with my cell phone. |
Once back in the car we decided to head back to town stopping first at the Trans Canada Trail that intersects Mayo Road for a short walk.
Driving up the road we noticed a beautiful old farmhouse that looks well maintained.
We noticed a sign at the Riverside Hotel, breakfast for $4.99 on the way out of Lake Cowichan. Ray and I had not gone to the Pub there, as we heard the clientele is a "bit rough".. This being a Sunday morning we did not think it would be a problem. What a great breakfast for $4.99 each and look at our view of the Cowichan River.
Our breakfast view. In the summer the river here is packed with people tubing. |
One of Ray's new favourite pictures. |
We walked down to the hotel's dock and saw a bunch of trout swimming around the dock. Too bad Jason did not fish here yesterday. lol I managed to get a quick picture with my phone. There must have been at least 10 of them swimming around and then hiding under the dock.
What a beautiful and well deserved escape!
ReplyDeleteYes it was. Last year at this time we were already in New Mexico!
DeleteGood to take a break and recharge the batteries for the next round of reno! We had opposite weather issues today, 26C in Grants Pass Or. and we were getting some work done to the rig so did 2 park walks. Smokin hot :(
